THE PERSON BEHIND DENEB
Hello, I’m Denys.
I’m Denys Bulakh, a seafarer and independent developer based in Poland. My background includes work as a second officer. I’m building Deneb for people learning their way onto the bridge, and for officers keeping their knowledge fresh.
Reference and study, close at hand
Maritime knowledge needs revisiting throughout a career. Deneb brings reference material and structured practice together on iPhone, with bundled content available offline. The aim is straightforward: make it easier to look something up, understand it and return to it later.
It is an educational companion. Current official publications, qualified instruction and your vessel’s procedures remain essential for operational decisions.
Built independently, shaped by feedback
I develop Deneb independently. Suggestions and corrections help me understand what officers and cadets need, which explanations could be clearer, and what to work on next. If something is missing or doesn’t feel right, I’d like to hear about it.
Where the project is now
Deneb is in a private TestFlight beta for iPhone. There is no announced public release date yet. Deck officers and cadets can request a place to try the app and help shape its development.
